Great quote from a size 18 customer
“Firstly, I wanted to say how amazed I am at the difference a decent belt makes to a girl’s life! I’ve lost a bit more weight and so I’ve started wearing more fitted clothes and finishing them off with my beautiful Italian leather belt. I can’t tell you how many lovely compliments I’ve had – everything from ‘wow you look fab today’ to ‘have you lost more weight again?’ (no, it just looks like it with this belt round my waist). I’ve worn it with jeans round my hips and a linen shirt, and worn it with smart black trousers, belt vest and very smart blouse, round my waist. I think I’ll be back soon for a couple more belts.
I think you could call me a convert.”
Ladies belts & mens belt site goes live – version 2 that is
We are thrilled to bits with the new site we’ve been slaving away on – onceuponabelt.com for ladies belts and mens belts soon. Not only has Jonathan given us a refreshed home page design but using Magento as the platform, we have lots much useful functionality not only to help customers but us with management information. Customers now have filters they can use to quickly and easily find the perfect ladies belt they are hunting out. They can also create a wishlist and see order history just like at Amazon. We’ve had more sales too since the site went live so that’s brilliant too.
New website coming soon
We’ve been working very hard on changing the e-commerce platform to deliver better ways to find the perfect belt for you and you can make a wishlist too. Just in time to send it off to give people inspiration for your Christmas present!
And the winners are…
You voted and the winning belt transformation stories from our fun photoshoot are now online.

Marta, founder of OUAB trying out some ideas
This is me, Marta Eleniak, founder of onceuponabelt.com back in about 1996 when I was having to resort to buying mens belts when I could not find a good womens belt. But then these trousers came from a man’s trouser suit bought in the sale at Hobbs if I recall correctly and the shoes were TopShop I think.
This day I woke with an awful migraine and had to take some serious meds and go back to bed to feel able to function, so I called in sick to my job as an Account Handler at an ad agency. Come the afternoon I was better again and all that laying around doing nothing had given me time to think and daydream. I really wanted to take photos of fashion but who would let me unless I had something to show, so I decided to do some self-portraits in the mirror. They turned out quite well but I never got round to doing anything with them. Another sick day post migraine recovery I loaded my car with paraphernalia from the house and went to various spots in Bournemouth taking photos of for example my ironing board in the waves on a photography project I called ‘My house in Bournemouth’. I’m sure I thought of it first before that blokey went round the world taking photos of his ironing board which he took with him!
Over a decade has past and my wardrobe is still a dressing up box with me still doing my own weird n wonderful thing fashion wise. Starting my own online business to do with something that has always been a passion has been the best thing I have ever done.
